Independence

Independence
through Mobility
Mobility Angels makes…

Fundraising fun
We raise funds to purchase wheelchair accessible vehicles (WAV) or convert standard vans.

The process easy
We review applications received from families and select potential candidates to be awarded a WAV.

Dreams come true
Selected families will be chosen according to need and inability to obtain funds for a WAV.
Our Purpose
We believe that every family should have the freedom and independence to fully participate in their community. Families with children who use a wheelchair as their primary means of mobility have unique challenges to go to places and events away from home. These families often decline to participate in their community simply because getting there is too difficult. We want to change that.

Lourdes Palmer
President & Founder
Lourdes Palmer has been a Physical Therapist since 1998. Her passion and career path has been in Pediatrics with a focus on children who live with neurological and/or genetic conditions. At the start of her Pediatric Physical Therapy career, Lourdes was surrounded by outstanding educators and peers that guided her, taught her, and trained her in the complexities and comorbidities children with neurological conditions face, leading to specific training in Neurodevelopmental Treatment in Pediatrics in 2001. She experienced the struggles nonprofit organizations face and, due to her exceptional knowledge and skills, was promoted to Director in 2004. In 2012, Lourdes established Intention Wellness Inc., to utilize her skills to treat children who live with complex neurological diagnosis and help their families.
In 2015, Lourdes and her husband, Mike, started fostering children. They adopted a beautiful two-year-old girl in 2016 and a beautiful baby boy in 2017. These life changing events changed Lourdes personally and they opened her eyes to the challenges of parenting. Lourdes is empathetic and expects a lot from the families of the children she treats. As a parent herself, she now incorporates pragmatic approaches to her recommendations.
Today, Lourdes desires to help children and families even further by helping them solve a common problem faced by children who use wheelchairs as their primary means of getting around. She founded Mobility Angels Corporation to fulfill a need in living a safe and fulfilling life!

She received her Bachelors of Science in Occupational Therapy from University of Puerto Rico in 1992 and moved to Miami, Florida seeking better job opportunities. After 13 years and as a mother herself, she decided it was time for a change and wanted to experience a new challenge working with the pediatric population in home health settings. As President of OT at Home Services, Inc., she has been providing occupational therapy services to children with disabilities, while helping families and providing support and recommendations for adaptive equipment. That experience has fulfilled her life.
Alongside her career, Anamaris has served as a volunteer with Habitat for Humanities, homeless ministries, and provided religious education to children. Anamaris witnesses the challenge children with disabilities and their families experience when the child’s primary means of mobility is a wheelchair. She desires to help them get the equipment they need and, in 2021, Anamaris joined the board of Mobility Angels Corporation to fulfill that desire.
